1969 American Motors AMX- Go Package-Original in Clearwater, Florida For Sale

For sale is a red with white stripe original condition xxxx AMX, Go Package, xxxx0 miles, with a complexly rebuilt 390 engine, automatic (M11) transmission and factory a/c. This car is essentially in original factory condition in that everything that has been done is in-line with how it came originally from American Motors.
The original 390 was pulled and rebuilt with a mild -slightly oversized- cam to give it a bit more power yet allow it to be a street driver and run the a/c. The engine was rebuilt by Jim McKee of St. Petersburg Florida. If you know much about AMX you know Jim and the excellent work that he does. The original Carter AFB carburetor was replace with a Edelbrock xxxx, the intake is original. All components in the engine compartment were pulled, cleaned, reconditioned, rebuilt, repainted or replace with OEM/NOS parts. The valve covers were professionally re-chromed; not replaced with cheap Chinese metal. The only visual non-original enhancements are the electronic ignition & Hooker ceramic headers. All Eastwood paints were used. All AMX parts were purchased from Kennedy American in Ohio. The starter, alternator, fuel pump- all new or rebuilt._____THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS SPECTACULAR_____!!!!
The interior has only had cosmetic work. By this I mean the original carpet remains, all the plastic components are original, but again what needed to be cosmetically corrected was done to generally the original look. New OEM reproduction leather seats and padding from Legendary Auto Interiors were installed. The interior is in FANTASTIC condition. The fuel tank was pulled and resealed and the tires are in excellent shape.
The body is in excellent condition, only surface rust at best in limited areas. Never has it been in an accident, it has the expected small dings and scratches from more than 40 years of life. It will need to be painted, this is the only thing I have not done to the car to make it aesthetically perfect.
This car runs great, every gauge and light and switch work from headlight to taillight and is just pure enjoyment to an AMX enthusiast. There are no leaks, drips or stains.
I cannot tell you in this context everything I have done, you have to see it -but serious buyers only please- if you just want to kick the tires go to a classic car dealer, time is valuable.
